Parents As Teachers Program

The Parents as Teachers program is a free, voluntary early childhood program for families with children ages birth to three. PAT offers home visits, developmental screening, hearing and vision screening, parent education speakers, family activity sessions and a toy and book lending library.

When you enroll in the PAT program, a parent educator will join you in your home to share ideas with you to best enjoy your child. She will assist you in communicating with your youngster and address any parenting concerns you may have. She will offer ideas on assisting your child with developing a positive self-concept, social skills, problem-solving skills and language skills and will provide you with many examples of age-appropriate activities for your child. Her job is to help parents to be their child's best first teachers.
