Appleview Elementary Mission Statement:

We, the Appleview staff, are committed to join in partnership with students, families, and the community to ensure that the learning environment at Appleview will be child centered and healthy.  Students will be challenged to become productive and responsible citizens who function academically, emotionally, socially and physically in a changing world.  Our staff will encourage and promote an educational environment which values hard work, respect, responsibility and life-long learning.  Each day, our mission will be to facilitate, support, and challenge all students to achieve their highest potential

2009-10 School Improvement Goals:

Goal #1 - School Environment - To enhance the physically and emotionally safe, caring and orderly learning environment at Appleview Elementary.

Goal #2 - Curriculum -To align curriculum and assessments within the four-core areas (Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies)

Goal #3 - Literacy - To provide professional development which promotes the use of common literacy strategies across grade levels and content areas.

Goal # 4  - Differentiation - To enhance the structure and model of our Response to Intervention plan to ensure accurate identification, documentation of intervention and model of intervention.

Goal #5 - Student Achievement - Increase student achievement as measured by MEAP in reading, writing and mathematics
